I HAD hoped that this post would be about my new-to-me sofa, but it isn't. Because I haven't got one.
I HAD hoped to do a before-and-after shot of the old and then the new sofa. But I can't, because there is no 'after' shot.
So whilst INTENDING to buy a new-to-us sofa, but finding nothing that made my heart race, I found instead this little beauty hiding behind some side cabinets. A lovely little sewing box on some very sexy legs.
But I have a question: paint it or leave it? It's a bit battered - do you think a bit of gloss would make her feel better??
You seem to have so many awesome thrifted finds! No such luck here in London. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.
I would try to sand it a bit and re-stain it the original colour, but if it seems like it might not turn out evenly, I'd leave it.
Good luck finding a sofa!

thats a good idea. I wasnt keen on changing the original colour, but as it's half sanded anyway I could quickly do the job!

sand it and maybe stencil or paint a design then varnish??? Lovely find.

it's lovely, i would sand it to remove any existing varnish, leave the legs wooden, and paint the body, use something really tough, like eggshell maybe?.

'Score'? I thought you were about to comment on England's qualification group for't World Cup....;-)
Sand it down completely then varnish. It will look much better than paint - and last longer. You can still put stencils on it afterwards easily.

think you're right. I'm going with the sand and varnish option.
