Hard ground; stones everywhere; impossible to dig; weeds from Hell; no shade; relentless sun; endless battle.

Great neighbours; gooseberry bushes fully laden; working as a family; making plans; planting and hopefully giving our kids a useful education.
Love it.
Love it.
Great shed! cover it in black weed cloth until next year and build raised beds. Thats what we did and two years on it's smashing.
Oh the first thing I did was paint my shed a lovely turquoise colour.
It does cheer the soul up a great deal.

Looks like you need someone with a powerful ol'machine to dig it all up for yoo.I remember someone asking about this for an allotment here in Sweden. Otherwise you can says its a 'nature garden';)

Yeah the shed is great - and not ours! Such a bummer; and the guy who owns it has let it go to rack and ruin because he's encouraging bugs and wildlife!
Was thinking about doing raised beds actaully. might be the way to go.
Problem with machines is they cut the rhizome into smaller bits and scatter them everywhere making the problem a thousand times worse.
Think the only way forward is good old fashioned hard work.
Ack.
